July 8

I like to paint objects that focus on a brief moment in “ordinary” time…hot coffee and fresh croissant, eggs ready to scramble, vegetables almost to pretty to eat. I am fascinated when I stop and look and really see simple beauty right where I am at that moment.
And, too, I like to build a story within my mind as I paint…ordinary objects that have turned into precious memories…not just things anymore! My mother collected teddy bears, I inherited teddy bears, and so I paint teddy bears…remembering.
Enjoy all your moments of reflection.

Hi Mary -- I'm glad to have found your new blog. Fun to get to see your new work -- I especially like the captions on some of them.

"Sometimes I just Sit" LOL - I can relate.
