#16 - "I Need a Hug"
24 x 16; oil on canvas
This is one of three paintings that I just completed and sent images off for a competition. These two characters have an essence of sentimentality to them because the quilt was made by my husband’s mother, the monkey is a toy from my husband’s childhood and the “Andy” is from my son’s childhood (his name is Andrew)…that’s three generations! The painting process is a lot more fun when I have a “story to work” within my mind as I paint. It also gives me great pleasure to know I can re-kindle happy thoughts from the past.
This painting must be for sale at the competition (if it gets accepted!), so if you’re interested in purchasing it, we must negotiate a time of sale, etc. I will have new paintings posted on the blog in the next few days…stay tuned…
